Safety Checklist for Participants

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please adhere to the following safety measures:

  1. Bike Inspection
  • Ensure your bike is in good working condition.
  • Check brakes and gears for proper functionality.
  • Inflate tires to the appropriate pressure.
  • Secure all bolts and screws.
  1. Wear Proper Gear
  • Helmet (mandatory for all participants).
  • Gloves and protective glasses (recommended).
  • Appropriate footwear (closed-toe shoes with good grip) or Cycling shoes.
  1. Hydration and Nutrition
  • Bring enough water or a hydration pack to last the duration of the race.
  • Consider energy bars or snacks for longer categories.
  1. Sun Protection
  • Apply sunscreen before the race.
  • Wear a cap or visor under your helmet if needed.
  1. Know the Course
  • Familiarize yourself with the course map and any potential hazards.
  • Attend the pre-race meeting for updates and safety tips.
  1. Emergency Procedures
  • Know the locations of first aid stations along the course.
  • Learn the signs of dehydration and heat exhaustion.
  1. Check-In
  • Register and check in at the designated area before the race start.
  • Ensure your race number is visible on your bike and helmet.

 

First Aid Stations

At ASCEND Rides, safety is our highest priority, ensuring every participant enjoys a safe and thrilling experience. We are deeply committed to providing the utmost level of safety during our events, which is why we have trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) stationed strategically throughout the course. These professionals are equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to any medical needs or emergencies that may arise during the race.
